April A-Z Challenge – F is for Farquhar

April 8, 2015

The name Farquhar pops up a few times in the MORRISON family. FARQUAR FRANCIS MORRISON was born in 1820 in Leckachan Wester, Glenshiel, Ross-Shire, Scotland. He emigrated to Australia in October 1848 on the ship Blonde.

Farquahar was a grazier  on farmland at Spring Plains, near Heathcote, Victoria. After a few years, he became the schoolteacher in Heathcote.

He married ANNE McPHERSON, from his home-town in Scotland in 1866. Together they had three  children.
