Repost:
This a repost from a post that I wrote on my other blog Next Phase In Fitness and Life. I feel that it is appopriate that I also post it here for readers interested in biography and memoir. The post has been slightly updated.
Denyse from Denyse Whelan Blogs has a brilliant series called Women Of Courage, that I’ve been following since the first post in 2019. Each week Denyse interviews a woman who has shown courage during her life in the face of adversity.
From Denyse Whelan Blogs: “Courage is strength in the face of pain or grief. It’s doing something that frightens you. We face situations that demand courage every day. These situations provide us with choices, and the way we respond to those choices determines our future.” – Dayne Shuda
Recently, I was the guest and couldn’t have been happier to contribute. The topic was the death of my son Craig in 1995. I have written many times about Craig, mainly on birthdays or anniversaries. Mostly my posts have been factual and not personal, as I’m very aware of not allowing this event in my life to define me. I decided that if I was to authentically be considered a Woman of Courage, then this would be my opportunity to write more personally about my experiences.
I’d like to thank Denyse for giving me the opportunity to write this post. I do feel very honoured to be featured in the series alongside many amazing women who have faced adversity and conquered it. I’d love you to visit Denyse’s blog and read my post. While you’re there, do check out the amazing women who have been part of the Women Of Courage series.
