April A-Z Challenge – N for Nancy May Jones

April 17, 2017

The Blogging from A to Z April Challenge is a challenge put out to bloggers to publish a post from A-Z every day in April, except for Sundays. April 1 is A, and so on throughout the month. Bloggers can post randomly or on a theme. The theme I have chosen is ‘My Ancestors’. I used this same theme for the Blogging from A-Z April Challenge in 2015. This time the ancestors posted about will mostly be more distant members of the family. Hopefully, when combined this will form a full picture of my family history.

NANCY MAY JONES was my father’s sister, however she died before my father was born. Nancy was born on 17 August 1913 at Moonee Ponds, Victoria. She was the second child born to WILLIAM LOWE TAYLOR and EMILY JONES.

Nancy’s life was cut short when she died on 3 October, 1914 at Essendon, Victoria. Her death certificate states that she died from “a small burn and convulsions” which she suffered for 3 days and “heart failure” suffered for 6 hours.

There was no inquest held into Nancy’s death.

Nancy was buried at the New Melbourne General Cemetery on 5 October 1914.

  1. Isn’t it sad when you read of little ones dying at such a young age. My father had a sister who died before he was born too and we have several photos of her. She looked such a happy little thing.
