My Grandfather and Great Grandfather Morrison

January 10, 2012

Recently my mother gave me this photo. I was shocked as I had no idea of it’s existence. On the left is my Grandfather Thomas Albert MORRISON and his father Francis William (John) MORRISON. My great grandfather was a grain carter and my grandfather worked for him. They would go to farms with their horse and cart, in the outlying areas of Echuca to collect the grain and deliver it to the silos.
This photo was taken at the Echuca silos. I know very little about my great grandfather. About the only information I have is that he was very particular and fussy about his horses and their gear. From what I’m told it seems that they were always presented for work perfectly. Much to the displeasure of my grandfather who’s job it was to clean the equipment every night.

Photo was taken in the early 1920s. It is in good condition except for markings at the top that I need to clean up.
